Anster Haddies test our Sports Range

We at Urbanz would firstly like to thank East Neuk of Fife based running club, Anster Haddies, for getting involved with our Research and Development scheme where we work directly with running clubs to find out what those in running clubs actually want from their running tech.

We sent them a selection of our running specific headphones to assign to some of their members and asked them to submit their feedback forms after testing the product during runs for us to ponder. We were after qualitative data, as it's all very well us manufacturing products with features if in truth that the feature really doesn't appeal! The response gave us an insight into the buying habits of a small segment of people that all use headphones when running. There was never going to be many big surprises with the feedback, but it was most interesting seeing how much people are willing to pay for sport specific headphones and the other brands and products which the runners use. Whilst considering the feedback of the current sport headphone range, we are also thinking about our next line extension in which this R&D was based on. Small comments can sometimes seem insignificant however on some occasions could make all of the difference. One comment which our marketing guy James never really considered having a "distinguished" receding hairline was that sometimes a neckband may have issues due to ponytails. Whilst the neckband headphones can be tucked underneath or over-the-top of a ponytail, it could understandably be annoying if it doesn't feel right when mid-run. The feedback taken, along with ideas already in place, will be used in creating a new sport headphone which will be launched later in the year.

Hopefully Anster Haddies enjoyed the experience of working with a brand doing R&D and that they continually use the running headphones supplied for the trial.
